On December 18, 2014 the PRSA Capital Region Chapter held its annual meeting at The Barn in Albany from 4:30 to 5:30 pm.
Jennifer Miller, the 2014 chapter president, opened with Year in Review sharing a few chapter highlights for the year including this year the chapter held its first Twitter chat and hosted two members only webinars. Additionally, the chapter held several well attended events: Building an Online Newsroom which was also selected as a session for the Northeast District Conference, Media Speed Pitching, the Digital Media Summit and the Empire Awards. Additionally, a new website template was launched. This year, a member of our chapter, Jo Ann Le Sage Nelson was elected to the national PRSA board.
Josh Poupore, the chapter treasurer, indicated that the chapter will close December with $860.69 in the bank account. Penny Vavura provided an update on the Northeast District of which the Capital Region Chapter is a member; Paul Larrabee, our Assembly delegate, provided an update from the national conference in the fall; and Siobhan Kent, APR provided an update on the APR including that this year we awarded one of our members a scholarship to complete the APR.

Jennifer Miller closed the meeting and thanked outgoing board members Katie Bradley, Mike Lesczinski, Josh Poupore, and Penny Vavura for their service this past year.
